Wee Care Academy

The Wee Care Academy is a children’s outreach ministry of Saint Paul Methodist Church. This ministry serves children from infants through five years of age. In the summer, the program may be expanded for children through the fifth grade. The Wee Care Academy is licensed by the state of Texas. Our preschool was established in 1961, and a children’s day out (CDO) for younger children was established in the 1980s.

Our teachers and teaching assistants provide a positive atmosphere for a young child’s first school experience. Our goal is to help children develop school readiness skills in a loving, safe, Christian environment.

Hours of Operation
Monday– Friday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
An early room is available beginning at 8:00 am and a late room until 4:00pm.

Curriculum
Our preschool classes follow the Texas School Ready program (TSR), a comprehensive preschool teacher training program that utilizes state-adopted curriculum with ongoing professional development. There are certain units of study that the entire preschool goes through together, and these units culminate in an end of the week special day.

These units include:
-Cowboy Day, and the end of Texas Week
-Thanksgiving Feast
-Luau at the end of Hawaii Week
-Pajama Day
-Trike-a-Thon which benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
-A Fiesta at the end of Mexico Week
-End-of-school Picnic at the Park
-Field Day

Religions Education
A weekly chapel lesson consists of age-appropriate Bible stories, songs, and prayer. The stories presented are of Old Testament heroes and Jesus and his friends. The children will pray before snack time, and at the end of the day. Each month, a Bible memory verse will be introduced. The classes review the verse daily, and by the end of the month the children have learned it.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our Wee Care Academy!
