United Methodist Women Purpose
United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world.
Living the Vision
We provide opportunities and resources to grow spiritually, become more deeply rooted in Christ and put faith into action.
We are organized for growth, with flexible structures leading to effective witness and action.
We equip women and girls around the world to be leaders in communities, agencies, workplaces, governments and churches.
We work for justice through compassionate service and advocacy to change unfair policies and systems.
We provide educational experiences that lead to personal change in order to transform the world.
Saint Paul United Methodist Women are part of an international organization of women with over 800,000 members. Our local women embrace the purpose and vision of our organization and work to enhance the lives of women, children, and youth at home and around the world.
At Saint Paul, our unit has general meetings for all members the first Wednesday of each month, September through May at 9:30 am. We also have five small groups (circles) that meet each month for fellowship, service, and education.
- Esther and Sarah Circles meet the third Wednesday of each month at 9:30 am in members’ homes.
- Martha Circle meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm in members’ homes.
- Leah Circle meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the church parlor.
- The Dorcas Reading circle meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:30 pm in the church parlor. This circle is dedicated the United Methodist Women Reading Program and reads and discusses one book from the national list each month.
Throughout the year, the United Methodist Women of Saint Paul work together on fundraising projects for missions and fellowship opportunities for all the women of the church.
